-A few years back, coverage of the underwhelming NYC Dunk Riot (see above) exposed Americans to the plight of the sneakerhead and made the Staple Design "Pigeon" logo synonymous with exclusivity. However, the "Pigeon" is back in full force with several new releases sure to start a fight or two.
-The logo first reappeared on August 6th, when the New Balance 575 "Pigeon" was released at select spots around the world, including Reed Space, the Lower East Side boutique/riot venue owned by Staple founder Jeff Ng. There was less violence this time around, and being a New Balance devotee I really think Staple outdid themselves. If these weren't $400 on eBay I might even consider a purchase.
-For good reason, Staple clearly doesn't want to let the "Pigeon" hype die down anytime soon. While there is only one Staple dealer in the entire Northwest, logo tees and the new series of New Era 5950s are now available at BoundlessNY.com.
