School Supplies: Hall of Fame Size Caps

-These straight forward New Era fitteds from Hall of Fame bring a new yet simple design that I like but think would be more useful if applied to underwear.

School Supplies: Supreme x North Face

-Supreme is absolutely killing it this week. First came their long-awaited collaboration with The North Face, which produced a set of three colorful Denali jackets. I loved the idea behind the Trans-Antarctic series Denali, but I wasn't impressed by most of the color choices. The Supreme collaboration is a little more subtle, but the jackets are original enough to break the standard North Face monotony. As for the Trans-Antarctic series, yet another edition (below) was released last week to commemorate the company's 40th anniversary.
-Always a step ahead, Supreme was also one of the first companies to release the down flap New Eras that gained popularity during this year's World Series. We have been waiting for these for months, and it is no surprise that Supreme is one of the first companies to make them available.

Design Major: Pigeonholed

-A few years back, coverage of the underwhelming NYC Dunk Riot (see above) exposed Americans to the plight of the sneakerhead and made the Staple Design "Pigeon" logo synonymous with exclusivity. However, the "Pigeon" is back in full force with several new releases sure to start a fight or two.
-The logo first reappeared on August 6th, when the New Balance 575 "Pigeon" was released at select spots around the world, including Reed Space, the Lower East Side boutique/riot venue owned by Staple founder Jeff Ng. There was less violence this time around, and being a New Balance devotee I really think Staple outdid themselves. If these weren't $400 on eBay I might even consider a purchase.

-For good reason, Staple clearly doesn't want to let the "Pigeon" hype die down anytime soon. While there is only one Staple dealer in the entire Northwest, logo tees and the new series of New Era 5950s are now available at BoundlessNY.com.

Dress Code: Legendary Lids

In this month’s issue of GQ, Glenn O’Brien has some strong words for you and your New Era collection: “Caps are for boys, hats are for men." Not convinced? GQ’s Style Guy recommends you turn on HBO's Entourage and ask, “Do I look like Ari, or do I look like Turtle?”

While we personally wouldn’t spend all of Aquaman’s money at Lids, we stand by Turtle’s allegiance to the single classiest item in sports: the fitted Yankees cap. The logo, which has remained unchanged since 1913, has become synonymous with the mystique of a team and a city. Devotees range from the obvious (Spike Lee, Russell Simmons) to the inexplicable (Tom Brady, LeBron). While my Bostonian roots will forever keep me from donning one, the cap’s storied past and classic design are clearly enough to make anyone go to the dark side. more
